International Fireworks Championship

Only teams that have already won a major fireworks competition somewhere in the world get an invitation here - six nations, three per night, fifteen minutes each, choreographed to music inside a minor league ballpark. Teams have opened with Eminem timed so the guitar riff plays to an empty sky before the shells start firing on the beat, closed with Finnish techno, and built Bollywood spectaculars. The audience votes each night; a panel of pyrotechnic judges crowns the champion. As one organizer put it, it pretty much ruins all other fireworks for you.
