Michigan Sugar Festival
Sebewaing has been growing and processing sugarbeets since 1902, and the Michigan Sugar Company factory is still the village's largest employer, turning out 260 million pounds of sugar a year. Since 1965 the town has thanked the industry with a four-day festival that locals treat as a homecoming - people schedule family and school reunions around it. Expect a midway, the Fireman's chicken barbecue, a ventriloquist, cornhole, the Sugar Festival Parade, and fireworks, with the Lions, Rotary, and area churches all running booths.
