Kirtland's Warbler Festival

The Kirtland's warbler nests almost nowhere on earth except the young jack pine of northern Michigan, and came within a few hundred pairs of extinction before a decades-long recovery effort brought it back. Birders come from across the country for guided tours into the nesting grounds, in one of the great conservation success stories in North America.
