Leif Erikson Festival

A town literally named Norway leans all the way into its Viking blood every October, honoring the Norse explorer who reached North America 500 years before Columbus. The weekend builds to the Night of the Viking - a torchlit procession around Strawberry Lake that ends with a longboat set afloat and burned as a funeral pyre - alongside Viking combat re-enactors, a saga dinner-theater, and the crowning of Miss Norway and the Norse King.
