Marquette Blueberry Festival

One Friday every July, downtown Marquette closes Washington and Front Streets and goes entirely blue. Restaurants get inventive - blueberry pizza, blueberry brats, blueberry beer - shops run 'blue specials,' local growers sell mounds of fresh berries, and bands play while nine thousand people wander the sidewalk sales. Started 27 years ago by the downtown business community and now so popular the vendor waitlist runs past 160.
