Kalamazoo Día de los Muertos Celebration

What started in 2014 in the gym of the Kalamazoo Hispanic American Council outgrew the building and moved to the county Expo Center. Families build ofrendas with marigolds, sugar skulls, photos, and the favorite foods of the people they've lost; there's a Catrina competition, and El Concilio's own folkloric dancers perform. As the founder put it, you can cry and laugh at the same time.
