Christmas in Ida
A three-unit parade and a small craft show in 1982 have grown into one of Michigan's biggest small-town Christmases. The Ida Civic Club still runs it, and the Monroe County village of about a thousand people now draws more than 50,000 visitors. Over three days there's the county's largest indoor craft show, ice sculpting, chainsaw art, chicken bowling, a Santa's zoo and free concerts. It ends Saturday night with fireworks and the Parade of Lights, about 135 illuminated floats rolling through downtown.
