Canal Colors Festival
Steep hills rise on both sides of the Portage Canal, so when the leaves turn here the color shows up twice - once in the trees and again reflected across the water. That's the name. The festival was born in 2025 when four Keweenaw fall traditions that kept competing for the same weekend finally merged: Brew Street's block party behind the brewery, the big Plaidurday photo, the Color Run along the canal, and Houghton's Fall Fest. Expect lumberjack competitions, tractor rides, pumpkin sales, and a crowd in flannel under the lift bridge.
