Shay Days
Ephraim Shay invented the geared locomotive that let logging railroads climb grades no standard engine could handle, and he lived in Harbor Springs in a hexagonal steel house he designed himself. The town celebrates him with tours, exhibits, and a weekend for an inventor most people have never heard of.
