Pulaski Days
For one weekend every October the Polish halls scattered across Grand Rapids throw open their doors - a dozen or so private clubs that are otherwise members-only, serving pierogi and kielbasa with polka bands going all day. People hop from hall to hall by shuttle. It's been running since the early 1970s and it's one of the largest Polish heritage celebrations in the country.
