Detroit Cinco de Mayo Parade & Fiesta
Southwest Detroit's Cinco de Mayo parade has run for more than 60 years, put on by the Mexican Patriotic Committee of Metro Detroit, founded in 1923. Charros, floats, folklórico groups and school bands march 2.4 miles down W. Vernor from Patton Park to Clark Park, and the fiesta at Patton Park runs all weekend. In 2025 it went ahead in the rain with about 8,000 people, while Chicago and Philadelphia cancelled theirs.
