Buck Fest

Deer season is functionally a holiday in Michigan, and Crystal Falls decided it deserved a festival. Hunters haul their bucks downtown behind the Crystal Theatre to be hung on the pole - all of them at once if they'll fit, laid out in the grass if they won't - and scored on weight and antler spread across junior, adult, and senior divisions. One Lions Club member described it as hanging out at deer camp with the whole town. Fire pit, live music, raffle for hunting gear, and proceeds going to the Christmas fireworks.
