Chesaning Handmade Music Festival
For 76 years Chesaning ferried audiences down the Shiawassee River on a showboat to see the Beach Boys and Randy Travis, until the festival folded in 2013 and the Shiawassee Queen was sold for fifty dollars and destroyed. Two brothers started Handmade in 2018 to bring music back to that same riverside park - two dozen Michigan bands playing only original songs, bluegrass to psychedelic folk to soul, with campfires, camping, and proceeds going toward restoring the amphitheater itself.
