Boyne Falls Polish Festival
When the 19th-century lumber boom drew Polish immigrants to northern Michigan, most left for the Detroit factories once the timber ran out - but the families who stayed made Boyne Falls a pocket of Polish heritage, celebrated here every summer since 1975. Four days of pierogis, kielbasa, and nonstop polka under the tent, plus the distinctly Up-North additions of a draft-horse pull, a 4-wheel-drive mud run, and a bump-n-run race.
