Ya'ssoo Greek Festival (Bloomfield Hills)

St. George Greek Orthodox Church has been throwing this party in Oakland County for more than 90 years, and every Memorial Day weekend it turns into three days of Greece: folk dance troupes, learn-to-Greek-dance sessions anyone can jump into, church tours, flaming saganaki, gyros, and loukoumades soaked in syrup. Admission is a few dollars, and kids 12 and under get in free.
