Cranefest
Every October thousands of sandhill cranes stage in the marshes of the Kiwanis Youth Conservation Area before heading south — tall, prehistoric-looking birds gathering by the thousand in a Calhoun County wetland. Guided viewing, birding workshops, and one of the great wildlife spectacles in the state, free to attend.
