Balloons Over Bellaire

Fifteen-plus balloon teams launch from the alpine tubing hill atop Summit Mountain, and for an hour on an August evening the sky over Lake Bellaire fills with color. Saturday morning brings a 7:30 flight over Torch Lake, one of the most photographed stretches of water in the state. It's free, parking is free, and it's purely a spectator affair - nobody's selling rides, so bring a camera, find a spot on the hill, and watch. Weather dependent.
